Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Jukto (“Jukto,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit jukto.org or use our services. By using Jukto, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address or phone number, and a password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). If you sign up with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.

Profile and content. If you become a Professional on Jukto, we collect your bio, skills, portfolio work (including images you upload), and any posts you publish. If you book a service or submit an inquiry, we collect the details you provide — name, phone, email, address, and a description of what you need.

Messages. If you message a Professional (or they message you), we store that conversation so both sides can see it and so our team can mediate a deal if one is reached.

Uploaded files. Images and files you upload (profile photos, portfolio images, work attachments) are stored with our cloud storage providers (Amazon S3, and Cloudinary for Professionals who connect their own account).

Usage and device data. We automatically collect standard technical information — IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited — through our own systems (e.g. to prevent signup abuse) and through analytics tools described below.

2. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — keep you signed in and remember your session. The site can't function without these.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising cookies — the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to measure the effectiveness of our ads and, where relevant, show you relevant ads on Facebook/Instagram.

You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings or a cookie-consent tool where offered. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account, and to let you log in securely.
  • To connect you with Professionals (or customers) for bookings, orders, and messaging.
  • To send account-related emails — verification codes, booking/order updates, and notifications.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and spam (for example, limiting how many accounts can be created from the same network).
  • To understand how our site is used and to improve it, using the analytics tools listed above.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following situations:

  • With the Professional or customer on the other side of a booking, order, or conversation you're part of — this is necessary to deliver the service.
  • With service providers who help us run Jukto: hosting and infrastructure, file storage (Amazon S3, Cloudinary), email delivery (Amazon SES), and authentication (Google). These providers only access what they need to perform their function.
  • If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Jukto, our users, or the public.

5. Payments

Jukto does not process card payments directly through the website. Payment for a confirmed order is arranged manually (for example, via bKash or bank transfer) and recorded by our team once received, along with a transaction reference. We do not collect or store your card or bank account details.

6. Data Security

Passwords are stored as secure hashes, never in plain text. Sensitive credentials (like two-factor authentication secrets and any third-party storage keys a Professional connects) are encrypted at rest. All traffic to Jukto is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When an admin removes a lead, booking, order, or customer record, it's moved to a trash state first and is permanently deleted after 10 days unless restored. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

8. Your Rights

You can access or update most of your account information directly from your account settings. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, contact us at jukto.global@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children's Privacy

Jukto is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Jukto after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, reach us at jukto.global@gmail.com or Sobhanbag, Road 5/3, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
